collaborate

we are stronger together

We were always looking to support and partner with organisations, projects and people who shared our values and vision for a city where more girls, women and non-binary people cycle.

We drew upon our extensive experience and knowledge of both the cycling sector and other sectors including education, community engagement and digital communications to offer bespoke consultancy services.

our funders

Thank you to the Foundation for Integrated Transport who supported us with a small grant in 2022

our projects & partners

bikeability trust

After a successful funding application for Bikeability’s Widening Participation Fund, in summer 2022 we designed and ran two bespoke cycling courses for teenage girls in partnership with local charity Evergreen and Erewash based voluntary group She Will – FYE.

The girls boosted their knowledge and confidence of riding on the road, made new friends and were each provided with a brand new Forme Winster 2L cycle, as well as helmets, locks, puncture repair kits, pumps and everything needed to continue cycling.

derbion cycle hub

Our founder Lucy approached the Derbion with the idea to repurpose an empty retail unit to create an indoor, affordable and accessible storage facility in the city.

We worked together to source funding and to bring SpokeSafe on board to design and manage the facility. Just over a year after initial discussions, the cycle hub opened in June 2022 turning a former hairdressing salon into a place to safely and securely park, and pop to the shops.

community one

Community One had an exciting vision to support more teenage Muslim girls to cycle. We were approached to create and deliver a beginners & refreshers cycling course over the summer of 2021 for 11-16 year old girls at Derby Jamia Mosque in Normanton. From being pedal ready to passing junctions, the girls built up their confidence and knowledge of cycling in their local community, and hopefully beyond.

derby bike popup

Derby Bike PopUp was the city’s only mobile bike mechanic service that operates entirely by bicycle and comes to your doorstep.

We were thrilled to receive funding from Cycling UK’s Big Bike Revival to team up and support with the project management and marketing of their community Dr.Bikes.

We also designed and delivered free maintenance workshops & cycling skills courses for women & non-binary people across the city from June to October 2021.
